Intake air valve, model ASV40The frames are made of brushed, anodised aluminium and the grilles are technically anodised aluminium.The diesel engine needs plenty of air to function properly. The air requirement for the combustion process is about 6.1m³ air per kilowatt per hour (4.5 m³/hv/h). To work properly, the intake air velocity must not exceed 3 m/sec. In addition to the combustion process, each engine also needs sufficient replacement air to remove the heat generated by the engine. The amount of replacement air required is approximately equal to the amount of air needed for combustion. The design of VETUS intake air valves is based on these basic assumptions, the number on the valve model refers to the horsepower rating of the engine it fits. This facilitates the design of engine room ventilation.
