When using a hub unit, precise alignment of the shaft is not necessary and the propeller shaft system can be mounted at different angles, in the optimum position in relation to the engine. Rubber pads in the thrust bearing effectively dampen vibrations from the propeller shaft, while reducing resonance from the shaft assembly to the boat hull. The hub unit; also protects the gearbox from axial loads.<\/p>\n
The thrust bearing of the thrust unit is attached to a mounting plate\/flanges (not supplied with the thrust unit) securely mounted on the hull of the boat, the propeller shaft is attached to the thrust bearing with a compression fitting, using a friction clamping sleeve. An adapter flange, selected according to the marine gear, is supplied with the linkage to attach the joint to the marine gear.<\/p>\n
A complete package is delivered including:
\n- the pressure bearing unit
\n- constant velocity joints
\n- an adapter flange suitable for marine gear
\n- rubber kit for mounting on bulkhead<\/p>\n
Remember to choose the diameter of the propeller shaft and the appropriate fitting according to the output flange of the marine gear. The constant velocity joint is the same for all standard P30R models.
