The splines on the PRM260C input shaft are the same as those on the Borg Warner (Velvet Drive) 71C and the Paragon P23 or P25.<br \/>\nin gearboxes.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Technical specifications:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>gear ratio: 2.94:1<\/li>\n<li>Continuous power (recreational use): 3.4 hp \/ 100 rpm<\/li>\n<li>Continuous power (light professional use): 3.4 hp \/ 100 rpm<\/li>\n<li>Forward rotation of the output shaft while driving: RH or LH<\/li>\n<li>Input shaft splines: 26 TEETH, 20\/40 DP<\/li>\n<li>SAE mounting: B\/W (Borg Warner) steering wheel \u00d8 209.5 mm \/ PCD \u00d8 234.95 mm<\/li>\n<li>Maximum allowable instantaneous RPM: 4,500 rpm<\/li>\n<li>Maximum continuous speed: 4,000 rpm<\/li>\n<li>weight: 63 kg<\/li>\n<li>Transmission oil capacity: 1.7 liters + heat exchanger capacity<\/li>\n<li>Heat exchanger connections: 3\/8\u2033 BSP<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In the PRM260C gearbox, the input shaft and output shaft are aligned (in-line design). The gearbox is also available with a 1.96:1 gear ratio.<\/p>\n<p>The hydraulic system of the gearbox avoids rapid movement of the drive lever to the friction rims and the gearbox reacts quickly to changes of direction, which is important for good boat handling.<\/p>\n<p>The gear unit can be used with both clockwise and counterclockwise rotating propellers, making the PRM260C gear unit particularly well-suited for twin-engine installations. The housing is made of high-quality cast iron. The oil pump and hydraulic control valves are mounted externally for easy access.<\/p>\n<p>The gearbox is extremely durable and reliable; it is also equipped with a mechanical locking device in case of a hydraulic failure. In such a situation, the gearbox can be locked in the drive position, allowing the boat to be safely steered back to the harbor.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Operating pressure<\/span><br \/>Minimum \u2013 18.27 bar (265 lb\/in\u00b2), maximum \u2013 22.06 bar (320 lb\/in\u00b2). The top of the valve block has two 1\/8\u2033 BSP threaded holes, and the side has an M18 threaded hole for installing a pressure gauge, if one is needed.<br \/><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Oil Cooling<\/span><br \/>The normal operating temperature of the oil should be 50\u201380 \u00b0C, and the temperature must not be allowed to rise above 90 \u00b0C. An oil cooler is required to maintain the correct operating temperature. The valve block has two 3\/8\u2033 BSP connections for installing the oil cooler.<br \/><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Propeller thrust<\/span>a<br \/>Both forward and reverse propeller thrust is transmitted to the output shaft bearings. The force exerted on the bearings is sufficient for all power ratings approved by the manufacturer.<br \/><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Propeller Free-Spinning<\/span><br \/>The output shaft of the PRM260C marine transmission can be rotated continuously when the transmission is in neutral.
