Description

PSS seals are fully leak-proof. The seal is easy to install in place of an old shaft seal.
The gasket consists of three separate parts; the fixed part, which is attached to the rim tube by a flexible silicone hose, has a wear-resistant carbon fibre surface, while the propeller shaft has a steel counterpart that rotates with the shaft. In addition, a separate retaining ring is tightened on the propeller shaft in front of the counterpart to ensure the stability of the counterpart.
The sealing surface is cooled by water from the rim tube.The opposite parts of the seal are pressed against each other by means of a specially designed and strong shark-like silicone hose. The hose also has a steel spring coil to reinforce the hose and increase the compression force of the hose against the counterpart.
